Fine lines and wrinkles

Fine lines are rarely just about lines. They reflect collagen being lost faster than it is made, skin that is short of hydration and, around the eyes and mouth, the way the face moves every day.

Treating the surface alone gives a short-term result. Lasting change in my Edinburgh practice comes from working on the layers underneath.

How I assess it

I look at whether the lines sit on the surface or run deeper, whether the skin is dehydrated, and how much firmness has been lost around them. The answer changes which technologies I use and in what order.

How I approach it

For many clients I begin with Dermaforce, which combines microneedling and radio frequency to rebuild firmness in the deeper layers. Polynucleotides support the quality of the skin from within. Skin needling refines texture on the surface. Where lines have deepened into folds and the skin has loosened, HIFU works on the deeper structure.

For anyone who cannot have treatments that use an electrical current, I use skin needling alone.

Within a Skin Journey

Collagen takes months to build. Within a Skin Journey, treatments are spaced to give your skin time to respond, and homecare supports the work between appointments.
